Lisa Reeves is the Pacers Running Race Director of the Pride 5K and also the badass in charge of all Pacers Events (technically her business card says Director of events and Pacers events Race Director). Lisa has been at Pacers for 15 years. We talked with Lisa about Pride, running, and how she launched DC’s best bakeshop during the pandemic.

Tauseen Malik is the General Manager of Yours Truly Hotel, home to a weekly Pacers social run and one of the hippest places to crash in downtown DC.
In addition to being the GM, Tauseen is a relatively new runner, beginning running in 2018 after a health scare caused him to re-evaluate his habits. We caught up with Tauseen to talk about running, travel, and using running to build community.
Melissa is a DC runner who has been running since high school. Her running journey is different from most people because she essentially started running twice: once in high school, and again after she finished cancer treatment in 2021.
Pacers Running is proud to honor Black History Month with some of our closest friends and partners throughout February and to continue the fight for social justice and expanded inclusivity in running year-round.
Our Black History Month activities begin on Monday, February 7th at Pacers 14th St. with four weeks of group runs highlighting culturally and historically significant African American landmarks in Northwest DC.

Pacers-sponsored Georgetown Running Club went to Club Cross Country Championships in early December. GRC member and Social Media Director, Alex Doran, and Coach Jerry Alexander recapped the highs and lows of a big week for GRC.
On November 7th, with the help of New Balance Running (sponsor of the NYC Marathon) and fellow running store owner, Ross Martinson, Farley headed back up to Staten Island to the same start line that made up 6 of his total sub 3 attempts. The gun went off, the crowds of runners flooded the streets, and the former front-of-pack runner took his place among the masses in an effort to see if he could beat time, figuratively and literally, one more time...
Running often feels like home, a familiar rhythm that I return to time and time again that allows me to find familiarity in new places. I think it comes back to a certain feeling that I experience when running. The engagement of body and place. The same way places and landscapes can have a certain feeling. Something about the light. Something about the color of the dirt. Something about the quality of the air. Something about traversing a landscape.
30 years ago, Pacers Running opened its first shop in the D.C area when we opened in Old Town Alexandria. Ever since that day, we have been passionately committed to creating more runners and to be your resource, friend, guide, and cheerleader every stride of the way. In the spirit of bringing running to as many people as possible, we are excited to announce the first-ever Running Week at Pacers Running!
