The Garmin fenix 6 is the ultimate outdoor adventures watch, giving you more insights into all of your activities. The fenix 6 is loaded with golf and ski features, helping to track uphill- and downhill-specific metrics on the slopes. The Pro version includes detailed maps for thousands of ski resorts and golf courses, including some topographical maps, allowing you to plan your outings to perfection. For long hikes and expeditions, all versions of the fenix 6 come with an altimeter, barometer, and compass, and expedition mode activates a low-power GPS reference function that can help your watch last for weeks at a time. All versions feature apps for individual sports to help log all of your activities, while the Pro version includes animated workouts guiding you through cardio, strengthening, yoga, and Pilates exercises.
That's all built on top of the great running, swimming, and cycling features found in the Garmin Forerunner line. In addition to tracking essential running stats like heart rate, distance traveled, pace, cadence, and intervals, the fenix 6 captures ground contact time, stride length, vertical oscillation and ratio, more accurate VO2 Max measurements, and Pulse OX, your blood oxygen saturation levels. On top of that, the fenix 6S captures swimming metrics like stroke count and efficiency both in the pool and in open water, and can automatically detect the stroke you're using. It's also compatible with a number of bike monitors to help aggregate your swimming, running, and cycling data.
When building up mileage during training, your workouts might take you farther and farther from home. The Pro version of the Garmin fenix 6 has several mapping features, like full color on-board maps that can be used for turn-by-turn navigation and round-trip routing, ensuring you stay safe and on course during even your longest rides and runs. And, if you're hitting the hills, all versions of the fenix 6 have ClimbPro, which will tell you gradient, distance, and elevation gain data in real-time for the hill you're on or the hill you're about to climb! The Pro version of the fenix 6 features grade-adjusted pacing guidance, helping you to learn to manage your energy efficiently on ascents and descents. The watch also uses several other navigation systems in addition to GPS, like GLONASS and Galileo, to make sure the watch always knows where you are and where you're going.
The Pro version of the Garmin fenix 6 also adds internal storage to your smartwatch, allowing you to upload your own music or download tunes for offline play from services like Spotify using apps from Garmin's Connect IQ app store. With Bluetooth connecting your wireless headphones directly to the Garmin fenix 6, you'll finally be able to leave your phone at home when going on a run without sacrificing anything! The watch can track sleep, stress levels, and menstrual cycles, and includes a hydration log that can remind you to drink enough water daily. The fenix 6 also tracks your respiration, during daily life and during sleep, breathwork, and yoga activities. You'll also get smartphone notifications like calls and texts, plus a brand new incident detection feature that will automatically call for help if the watch detects that you may have been involved in an accident while on a run or ride. Garmin Pay can be used to make payments wirelessly — another reason to leave your phone at home! The fenix 6 can be purchased with a number of straps, including silicone and titanium, and can be purchased with a 42 mm, 47 mm, or 51 mm watch case. In addition to being waterproof up to 10 ATM, the watch meets military standards for thermal, shock, and water resistance. Buying the Sapphire version of the fenix 6 adds a sapphire crystalline coating on the watch face that is extremely hard and resistant to scratching. Battery life is about nine days when just used as a smartwatch, up to 25 hours with GPS continuously turned on, and up to 6 hours with both GPS and music on continuously (Pro version and up only). When in Expedition Mode, the battery will last about 20 days, while Max Battery GPS mode will get you 50 hours. If you really need to conserve battery life, battery saver mode will make the fenix 6 last 34 days on one charge.
